"Will You Wait Until Revival Comes?"
May, 2004

I cannot think of a better way to enter a new church year! Waiting on the Lord until Revival comes. We have spent the last twelve weeks in prayer on Wednesdays, in a home and with the men’s and ladie’s groups. We have had people praying for specific things and hopefully in some groups. Prayer is a very necessary ingredient to God working to renew and revive His people. I am reminded of

Nehemiah sitting before the ruins of Jerusalem. Waiting for God to direct him for a revival and renewal of His people after 70 years of captivity. "I told no one what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem" (Nehemiah 2:11-12 NKJV). Keep praying! Keep trusting! God will come! He did for Nehemiah and Israel. The city was rebuilt and the Word of God was read publicly to the people and the people were renewed!

Another event that shows a challenge for the disciples to wait for the Lord is in Acts 1:4-8. Jesus told the disciples to stay at Jerusalem and wait for the promise of the Father. Then, they would receive the Holy Spirit. It is His power that they needed and that we need to be renewed and equipped to do the Lords work. I want His indwelling Spirit. Don't you? Keep praying. Keep waiting. He will continue to come even after the "revival services."

How shall we continue to prepare for this outpouring of Gods Spirit? Micah 6:8 comes to mind. "He has showed you, O man, what is good. AND WHAT DOES THE LORD REQUIRE OF YOU? TO ACT JUSTLY AND TO LOVE MERCY AND TO WALK HUMBLY WITH YOU GOD." It seems so simple. It is, really. Pray without ceasing. Come each service expecting God to do something special. Obey Him. Wait for His indwelling Spirit to lead you to do His will and Revival will occur; for you and in the life of your church.

Joyfully Serving,
